1. I'm so excited to be selected as the feature teacher this week at TBA! Thanks Fern. :) My freebie Reading Workshop Exit Ticket is featured from last week. This week my freebie is a Valentine themed multiplication printable. My children worked on 2 and 5 as factors this week, so I created the Multiplication Heroes for practice. Click on the picture below to download.
2. Close Reading.......I'm the ELA representative for our third grade team, so I've been mapping the common core standards and attending meetings on implementing the standards. Close reading of short text is being recommended. I selected a nonfiction article on Fossils to balance it with what we're studying in Science. The close read method is new to me, but so far I like it. Below is a chart from our third read........Read for Detail.The children read to support the central idea that Many Types of Dinosaur Fossils have been Found.They put the details on post its and stuck them to the Central Idea Chart.
3. We poured our casts into our fossil molds.
4. Our Martin Luther King Jr. Timelines turned out great!
